Analyses
Original research syntheses — reports, reconstructions, and side-by-side
comparisons that read across the whole collection, each fully cited back to the
source notes and the primary documents in inputs/.
The master navigation for the knowledge base is ../wiki/INDEX.md.
The collection
Section titled “The collection”Reconstructions of a single moment
Section titled “Reconstructions of a single moment”- The last three minutes — Eagle’s final approach braided across three independent voice records, then measured against the 2011 LROC image (West crater stands ~490 m from the descent stage, not the rounded “~400 m”).
- One moment, three records — the landing and the first step, set side by side across the air-to-ground, onboard, and PAO records.
- One hour, four layers — the EVA-prep overrun traced through the full procedural chain.
The moonwalk against its plan
Section titled “The moonwalk against its plan”- Plan vs. actual — the moonwalk measured against the pre-flight script.
- Apollo 11 EVA — annotated master timeline — the minute-by-minute chronology of the first moonwalk.
- Anomalies and malfunctions register — every malfunction the Mission Report logged (§16), transcribed.
The samples and the site
Section titled “The samples and the site”- Where did each rock actually come from? — a provenance biography of all 53 returned samples.
- Returned samples — master table — every Apollo 11 sample in one table.
- Tranquility Base photo-map — the sampling zones and deployed hardware annotated on the orbital image.
Reading across the record
Section titled “Reading across the record”- The discrepancy ledger — where the primary record disagrees with itself.
- Memory vs. record — Armstrong’s 2001 oral history against the 1969 documents, on four episodes.
- What did Apollo 11 actually establish about the Moon? — the first-order scientific results, synthesized.
Guides and reference
Section titled “Guides and reference”- Follow Apollo 11 in real time — a day-by-day anniversary companion mapping every milestone to its 1969 date and wall-clock time.
- Reading the library: three guided paths — a guided tour through all 24 sources.
- Glossary — every acronym and term of art used across the wiki.
